Fun Fact: Vodka is actually Polish, but the Russians popularized it by being hammered 24/7 and not being able to hold their liquor well.

As a first generation Pole born and raised in the U.S. I swear my Grandmother (whom I love dearly) tried to kill me with Keilbasa and eggs for breakfast, barley soup with bread and butter, juice, milk and water for pre-lunch. More barley soup bread and butter, juice, milk, water and a pirogi or two for lunch. Then if I was still able to breath and stay awake from the ingestion of about 5,000 calories before 6pm, I could have dinner which was too long to list.
Yes, I was a fat kid : P

I hate the way non-Polish people say perogis instead of pierogi.

We do the best we can. You should here some of the Polish/German/French names that got changed at Ellis Island: "Shmidt? What is Shmidt? Sounds like Smith. You are now a Smith. Enjoy!"
