Student loan debt has surpassed credit card debt. The total of $1 trillion is what the American students have to pay back. In an effort to aid students nationwide, Obama has proposed a new plan that will save college grads money. Many believe that the students should have got the bailout not wall street. Liz Wahl helps us take a better look into the issue that is plaguing some many Americans.

  • Hell, if you don't go to college what do you do? You hardly can find a job these days. If you go to college, at least you are learning something and may be possibly wlll find a job after finish with a better chance then not going to college. Debt trap are set, people.

  • Listen, this is how the student loan system works. Its simple. Colleges take advantage of the fact that the government is willing to loan any amount of money for tuition. There's no competitive pricing between colleges. So like any other business (which is what colleges really are) they jack up prices to make the most profit. IF student loans didn't exist college education would be cheaper because students would be attracted to lower tuition and other colleges would lower tuition because of that

  • Obama solutions = crumbs = merely a jester = problems remain unsolved

  • @JoyceJeffersonTV - Do you guys think that one day we could possibly have debtor prisons? Or is that already happening? Just a thought...

  • @themightyjoseph - THANK YOU! I have been trying to tell people that it doesn't matter if you have a degree or not, if you don't have "outside of the classroom" experience, you will most likely NOT get hired!!! That is my issue. I spent more time in college than working and got nothing to show for it! :P

  • I know people who are going to school online - including high school (and some lower grade levels) and college. And it's a lot cheaper! I only have $600 dollars to pay back on student loans (Thank G-d!). I just don't understand why people continue to go into debt when the economy is in the crapper! My bro is trying to talk me into go back to school. I don't think so. I am having enough trouble trying to find a stable job as it is. WISE UP AMERICA!!! If you go to college, take up a trade.

  • @TheHomoludens I am in no disagreement with you there. I find it humorous that the American gov. pushes so heavily to promote this "carbon tax" because of falsified data that suggests "we" are causing "global warming" when 2/3 of all "man made carbon footprint" around the globe is cause from the military. Speaking for Canadian government, as I am from Can, something like 80% of our tax money is spent on trying to pay off our debt, and the interest of that to private banks.

  • $30,000 in debt, payments of over 500$ a month for over 10 years. Rediculous.

    We are the 99%.

  • @powaowa1 "but instead we waste OUR MONEY paying off interest/debt to the BANKS who have NO BUSINESS in supplying the money a country needs."

Don´t forget about military bases all around the globe...

  • @vigrxpillsful,If RT America is Anti-American,then the American mainstream media is Anti-Constitutional,Anti-Black,Anti-Hispanic,Anti-Muslim and also they're the real Anti-American for not telling the truth by covering bullshit news so they could purposely make the American people dumb by fast food and reality TV and talk about those Kardashian sluts.

  • @98bigbutt

its anti-american because its coming from the russians. if you're not american, then you're anti-american.
