Bombing of Islamic Holy Shrine in Iraq, Samarra

Holy shrines of two Imams in the Iraqi city of Samarra were once again attacked Wednesday morning by terrorists.
The holy shrines of Shi'i Imams, Ali al-Naqi (AS) and Hassan al-Askariya (AS) in Samarra were first attacked on February 22, 2006 and the shrine's famous golden dome was shattered.
According to reports, one of the four minarets of the two shrines collapsed and another one was partly damaged in the explosion.
The residents of the city blame the American forces, who are responsible for maintaining security in the city, for the blast.
The Iraqi prominent Shia Alim, grand Ayatollah Sistani asked all the Iraqis to stay calm.
