A short slideshow of the mothers of the Tudor Dynasty. Elizabeth Woodville was the wife of Edward IV and mother to Elizabeth of York. Margaret Beaufort was the wife to Edmund Tudor and mother to Henry VII.
@avallonmist She had Henry when she was 12, the birth was so hard on her body it prevented her form ever having other children. She was married three times, all of which died. With her last husband it was a marriage of convenience, and then some time during this she took a vow of chastity.
Did Margaret Beaufort become some kind of nun on her husbands death? Is that why she dresses like that? I'm not being sarcastic, I just want to understand her fashion? Thanks for the post.
@Nicollie1062 I agree, they should've made a series after "The Tudors" ended called "The Plantagenets." Another interesting woman during the Wars of the Roses was Marguerite d'Anjou, the fiery French queen of Henry VI.
The War of the Roses was one of the most tumultuous eras of England's history, and it's quite fascinating. Elizabeth Woodville had met her match in Margaret Beaufort; the two women were cunning, formidable, intelligent and eager to seize opportunity at each chance.
Vivat Elizabeth Woodville I love her!

@InnateNobility I wish they would make more movies/tv shows about the York/Lancaster era.. instead of always concentrating on the Tudor era.
