This series of videos shows my new toy in action: a BOSS ME-70 multieffects pedal.

There are many videos around showing what this device can do in the hands of an accomplished musician (look for the ones with Rob Marcello or Johnny DeMarco: they are devastatingly good).
But I wanted to remove the extra factors (great player, great guitar, great amp, a professional recording crew) and just show how the pedal works and what kind of sounds it can make.

This second video shows:
- Some of the modulation effects ("stompbox" n. 3). The "usual suspects" are there (chorus, flanger, etc...) and also a couple of neat effects: a harmonizer, and a octaver;
- Some of the "stompbox" n. 1 special effects: volume sweep, "defretter" (tries to imitate the sound of a fretless guitar, applying some soft vibrato), humbucker to single coil effect, and a special kind of compressor called "Solo";
- Reverb.

  • Excuse me ,I have a question about ME-70, how come my effecter‘s monitor shows two words:b and a upside down F?Is THERE ANY PROBLEM

    I’m looking forward your answer,thanks a lot!

  • @MrAcemok See my reply to the comment you posted in Part 1 of this video. Have fun.

  • I actually kind of appreciate that you aren't tearing it up like a guitar god. Let's face it - those guys can make anything sound awesome. This is a more honest summary of the pedal.

    What kind of guitar are you running through this? What amp are you running this through?

  • @zyxomma1 The guitar is a stock Epiphone Les Paul Custom with 9s. There's no amp: the sound is taken from the pedal's rec-out output and sent directly into the camcorder's mic input. Thanks, have fun!

  • Thanks for playing like a normal person and not like one of those people who can play notes at lightspeed!

  • thanks for sharing =D

  • Can it go 2 octaves?

  • @Moza47 I didn't set it right for a demo here, the effect is not very noticeable, but if you listen carefully you'll hear a difference.

    The chorus gives you the impression of two guitars playing the same thing at the same time, more or less. It achieves this by taking the dry sound, and adding it with a slightly delayed copy of it self, and modulating it's pitch making it "wobbly". You can use it for example for "fattening" the sound or for a "psychedelic" effect. Very nice. Also see Wikipedia.

  • @Elefender so what is the function of boss chorus?I though it is the same sound,no effect sound.

  • @Moza47 I don't know what the "super chorus" is, so I don't know what to say... I just know that the one on the ME-70 is the classic chorus effect. Have fun!
