  • What an amazing guy.

    On an off note

Is he in a wheelchair now? How'd that happen?

  • SlickFiction:

Ray had a stroke (likely more than one)...and little by little it was suggested that he use a wheelchair wherever he goes. Should he fall, that would be a huge problem, especially resulting with a broken hip or such.

He gets out regularly, was honored last week at the Jules Verne Society, demonstrated with the Hollywood striking writers on Wednesday, and writes and produces his small theater plays.

  • Awesome. Any chance that you might know when we can expect to see that new Fahrenheit 451 movie out? Just asking because you seem rather knowlegeable.

  • SlickFiction: First, when you can, go to YOUTUBE: RayBradburyChannel Lot's of stuff, including "favorites" of Ray's famous Prune Commercial. As to Fahrenheit movie, Mel Gibson has the rights to produce the movie. And he's doing nothing. There's a video clip on the above mentioned RayBradburyChannel where Ray mentions this. THAT video is titled..."Ray Bradbury talks about Gene Kelly", etc....

  • Man! If ever there was a candidate for that big long cane with the hook on the end, used in vaudeville to haul bum acts off of the stage, it would be dat der SQUAAAKY WOMAN!!!

  • QUANTUMLORD18 ~

The reason I left it in is a sort of C-SPAN style glimpse of what are few of the things Ray encounters when he speaks somewhere. Thanks for your comment. You did a god job of describing the situation.

  • What an authentic man with soul lifting words. Ray is truly a gift of Universe.

  • Forget about the ignorant woman. Just listen to Ray.

  • Who's the hot broad with the Fran Drescher voice?

  • That blue lady needs to calm down. and I'd also like to know who has their cell phone on when in the presence of one of the most fantastic writers ever to live

  • 4 people are the lady in blue. CRAZY.

  • Jesus... that woman is such a dick! Poor Ray..... what a fantastic guy though!

  • Ray Bradbury is a god amongst men but what the hell is wrong with that wOmAn's vOoOiCe? Jesus...

  • From listening to Ray speak alone, you can tell that he is a very good writer. He knows how to tell a story.

  • Halfway through that crazy little lady's speech, I got to wondering what would happen if she chose to introduce Harlan Ellison that way. Ray is very polite and respectful and kind in this situation, but Harlan would probably rip that nut's head off and use it as a seat cushion.

  • Amazing to hear him tell that story about Mr. Electrico. He is hinted at the possibility of passed life. I've had the same experiences in my life of synchronicity and providence. I wish I was there to meet Ray Bradbury.
