25 odd years later and there STILL hasnt been a better fighter plane movie made. I know it's really fucking cheesey and at times vaguely homoerotic but i gotta say, every time i watch this movie the 9 yr old in me comes out again and i wanna be a fighter pilot. It's definatly a classic with some great fighter scenes. (even if they use a few more than once lol)

@Antifaith29 Sorry, but The Final Countdown was a better Navy/plane movie than Top Gun. Top Gun is over-rated, there are so many things wrong with this movie (A-4s are NOT faster than F-14s, despite what the narration says here, and you can't ignore orders and do a flyby when told 'negative the pattern is full' and just get off with a slap on the wrist) The Final Countdown (even taking into account they travel back in time) is more realistic and better than Top Gun.
