Thanks So much for this video. I had my backward rotated SI joint corrected last week by my physiotherapist. Unfortunately since my significant other is away, i am unable to "pull my leg" as instructed by my therapist without the aid of my husband. After performing these exercises, i heard and felt a "pop", and the pain was gone. I am working on strengthening my glutes and back muscles

@MsRee213 Where did you find this diet? Would I be able to google it?

I have been completly cured of SI Joint dysfunction, by going on a gluten free diet. It turns out my ligaments were being damaged by gluten intolerance. I highly recomend trying it if you are suffering like I was. I wish someone had told me about it years ago!! Years wasted in pain!!1

on the last step, are you making the right or left joint move? My problem is on the right. Thanks for the tips!

@JoViaArmstrong I had a procedure done that caused inflammation in the SI joint. At first I thought it was nerve damage. I have had this pain for a few months with no treatment. I went back to my doctor who performed the procedure and they are going to give me steroid injections. Anywhere between 1-4 every 4 weeks. They take like 20 mins. Get the injections if you can and try and get State Disability until you can better manage the joint and until the injections are complete.

A physical therapist taught me similar excercises after she diagnosed me with right SI joint problems. After faithfully doing them for over two years, I find I have less problems than I used to.....he seems to be very knowledgable about this condition! Instead of putting my hands between my knees, I use a sturdy ball (like a dodge ball) to press in.

I did the exercises this morning, was in the middle of a disc golf tournament and my left hip was killing me. I normally do the last two, the side to side stretching. I also tried not keeping the knee so high during the side by side stretching and I could really feel the stretch right in the hot spot. The pain went away for the final round and I came in second. (first loser) thanks though.

i actually have SI laxity now because I was popping the joint too often when I was young
Nice video, thx
Are these stretches supposed to induce a "pop" in the joint similar to the one you would feel at a chiropractor, or are they simply meant to increase flexibility/strenght in the agitated area?
Thank you in advance

@HrJeps mainly just to increase flexibility in that area... thanks!

I'm afraid of doing this. This is serious stuff. I sprained my SI joint on Sunday. I'm icing it. Seen a chiropractor twice already. Getting a little relief but I can't afford to miss work any more days. This exercise seems like it will agitate the injury. I'll work myself up to trying it and let you know how it works.

@JoViaArmstrong Hi Jovia, don't force the issue.. wait till you feel a little more comfortable with trying it. Hope it helps!

Good video, but you also have to address the point that if the pain increases with any of these techniques the person should only do the one that produces the relief. SI joint pains are USUALLY one-sided. Also, sometimes the isometric hip ADDuction may be painful and hip ABDuction may be the one that produces relief (anterior/posterior distraction/compression of the SI joint). - Food for thought.
