Jonathan Gibbs - The Power of Joy

Jonathan Gibbs talks about how we trade our families and personal lives to advance at our careers hoping that hitting our goals will make us happy. If your like me, by the time you hit your goal you have already set a bigger, loftier goal to reach. We barter ourselves off to unhealthy relationships in hopes that meeting the right person will bring us joy. Often we only end up trying to keep up a relationship that was built on the wrong stuff or worse we end up suffocating that person since we have looked to them to make us happy.

We associate joy with fulfillment and we looked to get fulfilled.
That's an impossible task in this world so it ends in joylessness.
Attempt after attempt people fail and so did I...
Until I learned the secret...
Joy is a choice.

This is a really great video. As a guy who is constantly goal chasing and constantly unintentionally throwing myself off the cliff of self sabotage to create a new mountain for myself to climb this stuff all really hits home. Glad to have you as a mentor.
