I think you'll find that although dated, this tv comedy takes the piss out of everyone, mostly the British. I live and work in Leicester and you will go a long way to be more racist than an Indian - Punjabis, Hindus, Muslims all take the piss out of each other, but with no irony or humour. If anything, this program (funny or not) is a precise and extremely clever examination of race relations in the 70s. Nowadays race relations is without humour, which is sad for everyone
