I always wondered why sometimes people install elevators with no protection to the elements while other ones have windows covering the shaft. The Hilton in Atlanta has 2 elevators that are similar to that one, although that building is 30 floors.

What a stupid design! Open outdoor shaft and solid-walled car. Windows in the outer doors but the inner gates are solid. Very ugly elevator, could be made very beautiful very cheaply. What were they thinking? Or WERE they thinking?

That's a great video! Thanks for posting. Great to see the motor room, a bit dark (couldn't see a lot) but I suppose you can't have everything!
