Christ's suffering was for extolling of God's Nature. Lesson, What would it take for man to be one in fellowship with God.Emphasis of suffering is not God's hatred for sin but the supreme necessity of Christ to die suffering for man to know how exlalted God's Nature is in redeeming man. Focus should be affection for Christ as the Person who satisfies.Love holiness are virtues not attributes like knowledge and power are.It is not rebellion for emphasis but God's Son Jesus in Virtue saving.

Thank you todd for getting to the gospel. I could have done without the navel gazing on the other stuff... looking to Christ and his great love and sacrifice is the only way to create those other things in a formerly unregenerate person. And usually we will be more aware of our sin than our sanctification so looking at ourselves is often self defeating. Looking at what we believe about the gospel, and hearing the gospel again, is the solution.

Yes, we can't do anything by ourselves. But the evidence of true conversion is that you are given a new nature, and God will begin to work in you.
"If all of you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chastens not? But if all of you be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are all of you bastards, and not sons." (Heb. 12:7-8).
