Splash and I are working on a new routine but I just can't seem to get it together so I put all the moves and chains together in a video. We using the song that is in this video, hope youtube doesnt jump down my throat for posting it, but that is the song we are going to use, so whatever.

I trained my dog using only treats, toys and praise, I NEVER use +P : corrections, reprimands, saying 'no' or 'eheh'. You can see Splash's enthusiasm to play my 'games'. I left in some parts where I give her treats because we are still working on the routine, when she performs she performs with NO rewards in a public place full of distractions. The dancing and tricks BECOME the reward when you pair them with reinforcers and get the dog to WANT to do what you want your dog to do!

Happy training

  • You and Splash are amazing! How many hours a week does this training take?

  • Awesome.

  • @GoldenGirl5588 Still not Emily...lol but I haven't taught my dog to backwards weave, that's great. I;m not sure if you are planning on competing, but most competitions do not allow treats. If you type in 'fading the lure dog training' in the search bar, you can find out how to fade out giving treats.

  • Emily you are SEXYYY!!!!!!!!!!

  • Me encanta el vídeo :-)

  • OMG THAT IS SOOO AWEOMSE... i wish m dog was willing to do that... but she just spazzes when i try to teach her the basic stuff... rofl

  • ok thanks, obeidance is already down pat for us...and i have many of the freestyle moves down pat also...excpet the backwards weeve, any tips on that move? Also should i still be clicking and treating her if she already has the moves down? Id appreciate any helpful tips!!! thanks so much!

  • @GoldenGirl5588 I'm not Emily, but I know she was training splash since she was a little puppy. On her channel kikopup she has baby Splash videos.

And good luck with your pup. You can start k9 freestyle anytime, but make sure to get basic obedience down pat before focusing on freestyle.

  • Nice job with training , you work well together.

  • Hi- I love your routine. I really would love to start training my girl to do freestyle too.. She is only 4 months. How long and at what age did you start working on this routine and moves?
