This is a modernised version of the ancient "Agincourt Carol", a hymn dedicated to the victory of Henry V. over the French army in 1415. Video from a concert in Hamburg, February 2006.

  • Superb rendition. You perform the chorus (Deo gratias...) more skillfully than anyone I've ever heard. I love the haunting setting too.

  • Thanks - I need a few more voice lessons, though! ;-)

  • Actually, Agincourt was in 1415.

  • Thanks for the hint - I corrected the video info. My voice was a bit off, too, so it seemed natural... ;-)

  • Very nice!! There is nothing wrong with your voice. If there are any "imperfections," that only adds to the character of the hymn!!! "Too perfect" is not always better :-) I could give a hundred examples.... Just keep it up and have fun!

  • I am using your video in my Middle English seminar at university. Thank you for such a beautiful performance.

  • The lighting and setting for this medieval English epic is perfect. Great singing too. :)

  • Beautifully sung. I really like this song.

    Greetings from Norway.

  • Love this song. Lovely version.

  • Terrific. Really captures a bygone age well.

  • O gracia deo, or whatever the proper latin trnslation should be, That's beautiful.
