"Eve of Destruction" rewritten for 2009

We re-wrote these lyrics in the wake of a changing country. Barry McGuire said this was never a protest song for him, but an analysis of the world around him. As I look around at what is happening in my country I felt like I could make a pretty good analysis too. This video is not meant to make anyone angry or provoke them, but to wake us all up to the injustices that are happening in our Republic.

You're really talented, good job, and I'm glad your involved. But take it easy, for over 200 yrs we've often been "on the eve of destruction" politics are often so hot, and we've muddled through. I'm on the opposite side of the political spectrum and we're also concerned about the loss of civil rights. Lets work together. These things go in cycles, hopefully we'll swing it back.

@Percoola hey-I love your positive attitude & to be honest, you are probably one of the only "opposite side" people I have met that wants to work together. Lately I have come to think that if we keep fighting we'll accomplish nothing & the people that want to take charge just do everything behind the scenes while we are too rapped up in our arguing. It seems like that is what just happened in Tunsia recently and will probably happen in Libya. there are plenty of ares where we can all agree. :)
