Perur Raja a Popular Saxophone player from Perur, Coimbatore, the city The Manchester of South India which is also called the cotton City.

"Nobody knew more about the saxophone than Perur Raja, I mean technically." He has formidable technique with an almost uncanny ability to formulate and place every note and every phrase of his improvisation perfectly. He has a knack of making simple melodic phrases right on the beat with no syncopation sound as funky as anything.
Contribution to Carnatic, Hindustan and Western Music.

Perur Raja started playing music in 1966 at the age of 13, with 44 years of experience in music.

Notable Performance

His stage performance includes concerts in

Tiupati Temple, Madurai meenakshi temple, Guruvaur temple. He has the credit of performing in almost all the temples in Tamil Nadu and kerala and Karnataka.

Awards: He was one among the famous saxophone artist to be a awarded Kulalisai Kalimamani, Tamilisai Thendral and various state awards. He is also a recepitant of various Sabha.
