The Old Southern Jug Blowers perform a Sara Martin song at the site of her unmarked grave in the Louisville Cemetery, Sept. 18, 2009. The band had traveled from Japan to help dedicate a new gravestone for Earl McDonald, the jug player who inspired Will Shade to start his jug band. After the ceremony, they paid their respects at Sara Martin's gravesite 100 yards away.

This is a higher quality version of the video added last month. This video is courtesy of Thor Steffen, who attended the ceremony and then shared this footage.

  • @mrsweettater no surprise they're Japanese. They can be pretty keen there. See Caravan 45 for a great Japanese bluegrass band. I'm also half a world away in Australia. For a great Aussie jug band see Captain Matchbox Whoopee Band.

  • It blows me away that someone half a world away would be a fan of jug band music. Thanks Old Southern Jug Blowers! Excellent job!
