Shepherds Delight from The Clash´s Sandinista!
Some nice reggae music with someone...sniffing along to?
Starts with what almost sounds like celtic horns and ends...oddly.
This is the very last track on the gargantuan triple-LP Sandinista! and quite a fitting last track if you ask me, one likely needed if you´ve just listened through the 37 ones before it (which you should do at least twice a week).
Credited to The Clash/Mikey Dread.

RIP Joe and Mikey.

  • God, I love the bleating in the background. Sandinista is so brilliantly odd.

Any guesses as to what's being said at 1:39 or thereabouts?

  • No idea. I've played it slow, fast and backwards, there's just much echo to here what's being said, if indeed someone is being said at all.

  • I bought this when it was a new release and it impressed my like none of their previous albums. Have I been hearing the ending corectly all these years: 2:24 "Could it really happen?" "I hope not." (sound of the button pushed, missile is launched).

  • Wow, you just might be right. Interesting.

  • This isn't the Police & Thieves tune is it?

    (note it's just a question)

  • Don't think it is. There's some similarity in the bass line, but I don't think it's the same. I'm no expert at all though, could be wrong.

  • This is a superb track off a very under rated album.

  • So goooood

  • meow meow meow

  • 1973 chile

  • @AppoCC119

I think it is actually, just a dub version

  • Hang on guys: I think honestly that the end is the recording of a urinal in the recording studio. I'm not kidding. It's in a book on the Clash but the book is at home in the U.K. and I'm in Canada until April so cannot dig out the source but am positive that that's what ends the song!!!

  • @AppoCC119

    To me it's

"I know somebody rolled there sleaves up!"

  • @gamer4life444

So I was close then! ;)

  • @leeperryismerry Wikipedia says that this song is Police and Thieves backwards, and also dubbed.
