A fantastic bird! We twitched this adult Sandhill Crane (after one false start) late in the afternoon of the 2nd October. The bird was close to the Suffolk village of Boyton. It has taken a leisurely trip down the east coast of the UK after first being seen north of Aberdeen about a week ago, before then being picked up mid week over the North East and then retrospectively from a photo at Snettisham in Norfolk the day before it arrived at this spot, finally settling at Boyton near the Boyton Marshes RSPB reserve. This is the first twitchable mainland bird of this mainly North American species. This is just the 3rd or 4th record for the UK
