Exercising a dog on a treadmill is not animal cruelty. There was nothing stopping the dog from just getting off the treadmill any time it wanted. Dogs like to trot and they like a sense of purpose. They also need the exercise to remain healthy. The treadmill is a good alternative when you cannot take your dog out due to your health, the heat, etc. I would rather see this dog on treadmill than to see it laying around getting fat.

We have a Sheltie and I cannot even count the number of people who think she's a Collie. She's a rescue from a breeding/abusive situation but she now has a great home, lots of love and she now gets to live her remaining years safe and happy.

They're great dogs that make wonderful family pets.

Actually, Lassie was played by a male dog(s) because male collies have denser fur. What is interesting, is that these guys think Lassie was a sheltie?

Omg that sheltie is sooo freaking cute!! Makes me miss my sheltie Rocky so so very much :'( he passed away beside me almost a year ago, we grew up together, he was my best friend and I think about him every day. I would love to get another sheltie, not to replace Rocky, no dog will EVER replace but just because I think they're amazing and beautiful dogs :)

he looks a little bored. if you can get the scent of a female dog in heat and put on something in front of the treadmill, maybe he wont get so bored.

I guess you never had a bigger dog. I have a german Shepherd and she is love if we give her something to do, even if it would be watching rock for a 10 minutes, some dogs needs to feel that they have some jobs, duties as they were used in past to do that kind of things (like keeping sheeps in in line or something)...
