Doug was quite a good impressionist, that's Walter Brennan he's doing as he throws the rope on Johnny's leg. Jimmy Stewart, Cary Grant and Burt Lancaster were among the others he did. On a Checkmate episode, his character, Jed Sills, poses as a movie producer and Doug does his impression of Burt, he also used to phone Lew Wasserman at Universal, pretending to be Burt and Lew never caught on!
There was no better than Trampas.
