Took Cherokee over to the beach that Kellee and I grew up going to as kids. It holds alot of memories for us as children spending time with our Parents. Hope you enjoy.

  • That concession stand looks like a million dollar ocean front vacation house. Its a nice place to visit but I wouldnt want to live there, too damn cold in the winter for me! Thanks for the tour:-)

  • Both houses actually were private residences at one time, before the beach was there, when I come around the house, I dont know if you can make it out, there is a mansion on the tip of the land far out, it's the Branford house, that residence came to be, because, the owners wanted to live in Newport, RI, but because they were "new" money, they were not wanted in the society, so were forced to build their mansion here.

  • loved it, Great video homey

  • Glad you like it, thanks!

  • Would'nt it be great to do an investigation out in the lighthouse! Looks freaky! Freaky yet kinda nice too. Was is a very windy day Homie? Sounded really windy at times. About the girl who swam in the frezzing water...LMAO@"She's on something good"!

  • Actually Kellee has been out there to investigate, she got some pretty cool pictures. The story behind it, is Ernie the lighthouse keeper was begged by his wife to come back to the main land, she was tired of the isolation but Ernie wouldnt, so his wife ended up leaving him for a captain of one of the many ships that went up and down the Thames river. Ernie then went to the top of the lighthouse, slit his throat, and jumped to his death. According to the Coast Guard he is still there today!

  • Great Video: I was a lifeguard at the EPBP in 1958 and 1959 and Head of the lifeguards in 1961. None of the playgrounds were there, but the video surely brought back memories of Steve Ziberski, Dave Ward, etc. Thanks, Stephen Macht

  • this camera has got low fps

  • By the early 1950's, if not before, the beautiful big house at the point was already owned and run by the city. food upstairs, showers down; but the big house now called the Zbierski house was known to us neighborhood kids as "the Ronick house". It had summer residents but was shut up in the wintertime. this was during the 50s-60s, early 70s. At that time there was also another large unoccupied house on the eastern end of the beach, near the gate.

My favorite beach, nice to see the video!

  • why does it say beach closed enter at your own risk? Was it just that day or season?
