Like the play, the film tells the story of a homosexual couple - Renato Baldi (Ugo Tognazzi), the manager of a Saint-Tropez nightclub featuring transvestite entertainment, and Albin Mougeotte (Michel Serrault), his star attraction - and the adventures that ensue when Renato's son, Laurent (Rémi Laurent), brings home his fiancée, Louise's (Luisa Maneri), ultra-conservative parents (Carmen Scarpitta and Michel Galabru) to meet them.

Mu family watched the american version, then after my dad told me it was originally french! THe american version is just as good! but only because it has Robin Williams and Nathan Lane
