  • I just had a critique today and my work of course was on the African American art, im in a predominate white college and this video has inspired me to continue!

  • ELEVATE, not elevant.

  • Good stuff... is ART still relevant??? Art captures the spirit of a people and it can either elevant and inspire or it can degrade and dishearten. Yes, ART (african-american art) is important and always will be so long as we have eyes to see, a mind to discern, and a soul to motivate.

  • black art meaning traditional art? an artist should strive for individuality. he/she shouldnt clump themselves into a demographic right off the bat. traditional art is ok for folk museums, but we should be looking to the future and not the past. How do you get past race if you never get past race? To commend a piece of art simply because it was done by a black man is racist. Fight the power! it isnt what they do, its what you do.

  • Good dialog. I sometimes second guess myself and needed to hear this.

  • @shendricks749 Thanks!
