I played with Lincoln in 1973 with sax player, Bruce Freedman and others. Just digitizing the old tapes now and it is amazing how good his string bass playing was for a young guy.
Sounds like a combination of Stanley Clark and Miroslav Vitous, who he loved.
Bob Berg I saw with Horace Silver in 1974 in Vancouver. He was such a great player. Mike Stern is, as alway, one of the great guitarists. Don't know Jeff Andrews playing, though he must be a fine player too.

Lincoln goines may not be the flashiest bassist that played in Stern's band, but definitely the most complete bottom end. He and Jeff Andrews understand Jazz...They can walk a mean, linear line on the Electric Bass like very, very few. With two great soloist, a solid, swingin' bass guitarist with a warm tone is the shit!
thanks man~:)

What a shame about Bob Berg. Everytime I hear him play I think about that car accident. A loss!! And of course Mike as always, excellent!!
