I don't believe bogus science that "socialism and communism cause fascism" or "socialism and communism are guaranteed to fail". All economic systems (theocratic, capitalist, communist) HAVE to be sustainble in order to survive. Another necessary condition: every participant in them has to agree to them.
@martingiannini I agree. We should be ignoring the denialists now, explaining to them that their views are out of date and that the debate is about how to deal with man-made climate change, not if it exists.
The denialists are very poor at assessing risk. It will likely cost our species much more in the long run to do nothing than it will to implement carbon emission reduction programs. We can begin paying now in the form of reducing our carbon footprint or we can pay later in the form of massive die off. Please read "The Black Swan" for insight into the threat of unintended consequences due to a misunderstanding of risk.
Great presentation. Jeremy Leggett seems to be best at presenting at global warming and peak oil in combination - they are both highly interconnected, and we should be aware of the both, and get to work on these as quick as possible.

I dont beleive in bogus science about Carbon Dioxide warming the planet,
however , I do believe that Carbon Tax is a cover story for reducing the consumption of oil. Peak OIL is probably here.

Peak oil will make it very hard to cope with just about anything including climate change....

This comment has received too many negative votes show
'Climate Change' is PR from nuclear power, broadcast by stooges. Was Jeremy paid? Or just stupid.

Sorry, have a busy life here! Global Warming was only ever a flight of academic fiction - supported by computer models, not reality!
