Reminds me of "Flying In A Blue Dream" (Lydian)-It has that same drone/hypnotizing feel to it.
Why does Bb Phrygian someone asks? ITS BECAUSE OF THE 2ND CHORD THING-So
you can actually base your diatonic modes on the 2nd chord rather than the 1st. All seven of course will work-Bb phrygian, Ab Dorian, Gb major. And the 7th mode of Gb is Db Miolydian-So you can play Db and Eb mixos back n forth!
I have found sometimes)you can take the last chord of a progression and use those modes instead!!!

@maxaindyrdx i know the first set. its just an Eb, E, Gb. im not sure EXACTLY how he plays it but you can use the power chords, expieriment with additional notes, and try different picking patterns over the barred strings to get close to the song.

Ab harmonic minor

Satch is the man. It's a shame that many non-musicians can't appreciate him.
So many different scales can work for this.
I like throwing in E flat Phyrigian with a major 3rd for that Egyptian sound.
