@Xeresa18 you're absolutely right, that's why she wanted him to be a "common" guy!!!!!! bob was so atypical, incoventionnal, frustrated (cause of his Unsatiated idealism)...and she loved him for that!!!!! but she couldn't go above conventions to safe their love!!!!!

Yes, it is very evident in his letters to HPL. I wish their were some way to see the return letters from the different individuals that he corresponded with. What a story they could tell.

@JaneSanFrancisco Vincent was so utterly sexy in this, wasn't he. BTW., Dan Ireland describes his film: "...it has a universal message of second chances, being open to love, being open to life. The hope and the heart." I think that's very touching.
Never heard of "Sweet November" before, but I've downloaded it once I read your comment and will watch it tonight. Thanks for the tip, Jane, and thanks a lot for commentig!

I think that Novalyne, for all her attraction to him, was too conventional and vanilla bland in her emotional depths and that is why their romance ultimately failed.
She clearly cared for him,but he frightened her at the same time with the power of his intense emotional mood swings. Yet he never left her thoughts throughout her lifetime, and she obviously had her regrets.
She did remember him and shared her memories with the world. That was her tribute to him!

I think you are right about Novalyne. Vincent said she was reticent about her relationship with Rob, when he (Vince) talked with her.

You captured the passion and intensity in both men! I still say what Robert needed was a woman who would just get lost in him and grab him back with the same passion and intensity!
