The Northern Tribes

Contemporary photographs of the different people that inhabit the northern land of Russia. Mostly unknown outside Russia, the north is home to unique tribes that live by land and follow the ancient shaman faith. Only coming in contact with fur traders and remote settlements. Thought they recently face trouble with climate change that is changing the landscape.

@RonRay Thank you my friend for your warm comments. My video are only about Russia and my travel are from my service as a Cossack border guard. I like showing Russia because got tried of seeing all foolishness and propaganda and people knowing very little of my home.

A photographic spectacle of monumental proportions! Feel as though I am in the picture...so colorful and real! Touches every emotion with awesome impact! Some favorites include reindeer at 1:26, children and the boot at 2:17 and mother and child looking out from the hut at 4:23! Perfect music...these people remind me of Native American Indians, Eskimos, and Lapplanders! Frightening to think that the land that sustained their culture is disintegrating! Superb video! @Kievest Mostly around the Yamal Pensula these photographs are and of the Nenets. Yukut and Sami people no Eskimos A lot of the pictures are of the same clan and you can see the same children's and dog in few the pictures. Yes warmer temperature for them means ice freeze later and is swampy longer which hurts transportation and the herds of reindeer they depend on.
