Balluff EtherNet/IP blocks have built-in features to help troubleshoot and diagnose problems. The troubled block can be easily found by displaying PING on the display when hit with a command from a PC (attached to a network). The LEDs in the display can also be toggled yellow or red, allowing easy visibility for maintenance staff. If using an IPAP, the IPAP is visible and can be toggled to flashing or solid, showing that the block needs attention. For diagnosing communication issues, there are lare indicator LEDs on the block that communicate power, network, and connection status, along with signal indication and diagnostic shortcircuit and overload status.
