GoHein - Padded_Sell.mp4

Go.Hein artists Jennifer Gonzales and Nathaniel Hein constructed a padded cell in response to the current world financial crisis. This work explores the overwhelming marketing pressure to consume and the resulting "thank you" for your allegiance. Padded Sell is made from the generic and ubiquitous "thank you" bag fashioned into a plastic fabric that is stuffed with shredded credit card offers collected by the artists. Performing in the cell is American Creative Dance performer Nancy Van Ness and accompanying vocalist Lena Gilbert. The duo choreographed and scored the work.
