I run an empty spin cycle because I want to see if it will do its spin bursts. I am a bit surprised as to why the machine doesn't do its spin bursts when there is a load present. It could be that it was too unbalanced but when there wasn't a load present the machine did one spin burst before the main spin. Could anyone have an explanation to why this machine keeps skipping spin bursts and uses its balance sensor more than other Mieles do? One possible answer may be that it's a washer dryer and can't spin as unbalanced as a normal Miele washmaschine. Or that it's trying to protect itself. Please let me know.

  • I think it will be that the spin bursts are unbalanced because my Miele will skip spin bursts if they are unbalanced because there is no point in the machine re-distributing the load for a spin burst, does it mainly do it on ur bedding and towels load? Because if so then that would make sense because bedding and towels in the same load really unbalance a washer and my Miele has skipped spin bursts on a load with bedding and towels

  • Yes it is my bedding and towels load that get unbalanced and this causes the Miele to re-balance for most of the spins. But I like my bedding and towels to be washed together on cottons 60ºc. Thanks for commenting.

  • I hope it will get better, it could be that its a washer dryer because the drying element could be close to the drum, if it spins unbalanced it could hit the element, which could cause damage to the drum and element.

    I may be wrong though!!!!!

    I hope it gets better!

  • I hope so too. Because if it has spin bursts then it is meant to spin on them and not skip them out. Thanks for commenting.

  • Interesting

  • It only does bursts if the load is absorbant enough to cause it to need them. Bascially it's to cut down on wear on the motor, minimise the chance of a sudslock. With a smaller or less absorbant load it cuts the bursts out to save time.

  • I washed them on express.

  • What programme did u have the cushion covers on?

  • Yeah, mine does if I have a really small load on cottons or a maintenance wash, it doesn't do any spin bursts it just does one long spin

  • Oh yes I understand that u like to wash ur bedding towels together, thanks for replying
