Beacon Rock is on the Washington Side of the Columbia River Gorge. It is what is left of a Lava tube from a long time ago. It's debated as the second largest monolith behind the Rock of Gibraltar. The rock was purchased for $1 in 1915 by Henry Biddle, and he cut the original path into the rock and opened it in 1918.
It is a neat little hike with some unique characteristics and history. One of the things that make the Pacific NW so damn awesome.
Video was shot on my wife's Iphone so if it looks weird call Steve Jobs.
