Keep your e-mail and contacts all in one place using Outlook for all of your e-mailing needs.

To complete this how-to, you will need:

Gmail account
Microsoft Outlook

Step 1: Sign in and go to Settings

Sign in to your Gmail account and go to Settings at the top of the page.

Step 2: Click Forwarding and POP

Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP within the Mail Settings window. Choose the POP enabling feature and learn what to do with messages next to the POP Download heading.

Leave this window open and do not click Save Changes until you have configured Outlook.

Step 3: Open Outlook and add new account

Open Outlook and select Tools from the menu bar. Then select E-mail Accounts from the Tools drop-down menu. Select Add a New E-mail Account and click Next.

Step 4: Choose POP3

Choose POP 3 as the server type and click Next. Fill in the information about the mail server.

The incoming e-mail server (POP3) is pop.gmail.com. The outgoing e-mail server (SMTP) is smtp.gmail.com.

Step 5: More Settings

Click the More Settings button and then select the Outgoing Server tab. Check the "My outgoing server requires authentication" box and hit the "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" button.

Step 6: Select the Advanced tab

Select the Advanced tab. Check the "This server requires an encrypted connection" box below the incoming and outgoing server headings. Now enter the number 465 in the box next to Outgoing Server and click the OK button at the bottom of the window.

Step 7: Test account settings and finish

Test the account setting by clicking the button and wait to receive a confirmation. Then click Next and then Finish. Return to the Gmail window and click Save Changes to receive all of your Gmail via Outlook. Now your two e-mail accounts are linked.
