The ever inspiring Patrick Ivison shows a young audience how one tackles life when everything suddenly changes. After sustaining a spinal cord injury that most doctors believed would render him motionless for life, this amazing 17-year old uplifts us all with a talk on how to continue following one's dream against all odds.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)

  • when he was taking steps i had a tear roll down my cheek and a fat smile. thanks for that dude:]

  • Patrick is the coolest - he is an inspiration to all.

  • One of the best times of my life was being a part of Patrick's surfing life. Every day was an adventure with him, from adapting his equipment, building his boards, gathering sponsors and most of all, taking him surfing, all of these things was a new and incredible journey and I was lucky to be there in the beginning. He still inspires me every day.

See you in the water, "little brother".
