Weekend guest video by Bookworm94. Visit her on Spogg. http://spogg.com/bookworm94

Sorry! I realize the background music was way too loud, but I was in a rush to get the video up before the weekend was over.

The actual essay:
I believe in equality for everyone.
Not just North Americans or Europeans, but everyone.
No matter what you believe, how you look, or what you do.
And I hope to one day be a part of a world where that's
something real.

I believe in helping those less fortunate than you.
I'm not rolling in money, but I can eat when I want and be healthy most of the time.
There are so many people in the world who cannot say that.
I think it's unfair that some people have so much, while others have nothing.
It's my personal dream to spend my life helping people who need it.
I don't know what I'll do, but I will make sure
I can do something.

I believe in God.
I believe there's a higher power that created the situations in which the world began.
I also believe that evolution is a very real thing.
I believe that science could be accepted in religion, if people would open their minds a bit.
I don't, however, believe in Hell.
I don't believe a father that created everyone could hate their children to send them into eternal punishment.
I do believe in faith, but I don't believe in organized religion.
And I believe everyone should decide
their own beliefs.

I believe in beauty.
I've never really felt beautiful in my life, and I don't really expect to.
I've heard that I'm both 'gorgeous' and 'ugly as hell', so I'm not really sure of what I am.
Personally, I believe I'm somewhere in the middle.
However, this isn't the beauty I'm talking about.
I believe in the beauty of a flower, or dew on grass in the morning, or smiles
on my brothers' faces, or gut-wrenching laughs that make your stomach hurt.
I believe there's beauty that can be
found in everything.

I believe in fun.
I have no problem with skipping down a street or hugging strangers or screaming
on roller coasters.
I love playing Barbies or Family with my cousin's kids, even though I'm
way too old to be doing things like that.
I adore smiling, even though I hate my smile, and watching stand up comedy.
And I love to make plans.

I believe in real, complete honesty.
I don't lie to anyone, besides, occasionally, my parents.
I always want the truth, no matter what.
So please, don't think of how I'll feel when I hear the bad stuff.
Think of what I will do to myself to make sure
you never feel that way about me again.

I believe in my friends.
They are really the people who keep me level-headed,
who make sure I'm not going insane,
who love me for what I really am.

I believe in love.
As much as it can suck, there are some good things about it too.

And most of all...
I may not like myself all the time...
But generally..

  • This is nice, little excerpts like this will poke into your life from time to time. Don't forget though, the honeymoon doesn't last forever.

  • Love it - this is my favorite video so far.

  • Nice work Bookworm! I like the editing and the general philosophy of the video. Good work!

  • With the background music and noise, it's a bit difficult to hear what you're saying when you're on the couch. Otherwise, great piece. Go on believing.
