To the point!
I had to replace my DSG7 clutches after 70 000 km. Problems started at 50 000 km but it took many months to get an ok from the factory to replace clutches. It worked few thousand kms. I reclaimed. Then DSG was brought for a check-up. There were aluminum particles in oil and [quote]wrong type of fuses[/unquote] inside mechatronics. After 85 000km the whole transmission was changed to new one. The old one was 2009 model DSG7. That's how well these are designed.

These days everything is designed to break - tv's, cars, microwaves, laptops... and strangely everything breaks just after the manufacturer warranty expires. The best cars were made in the 90's.
DSG is nice! But just how much it will cost to replace worn cluthe(s) after time...

Hopefully never because we would think this technology would last long and be built just as solid as a manuel gearbox. If that's what we all hope for, even the designers too.
