Information for boat repairer! Where blackened, the resin has been burned out leaving dry material that needs cutting out & replacing. Boat has now been scrubbed inside and out and the pictures at the end of the video show its current status. The radiated heat damage is to the right side foredeck where the underside of the deck is darkened and the top surface can be seen to be a little "bubbled" up to around the 2nd strengthening rib (in line with front of footrest rail). This area has begun to delaminate but the areas around the knees are still all sound. I think the foredeck damage may be superficial and not need cutting out. Best idea so far seems to be chop out the whole cockpit rim and surrounding deck about 5 to 10cm wide and insert new deck area with cockpit rim already bonded in. Priority on strength with whatever cosmetic appearance results. I plan on spraying the cockpit area with a yellow "KABOOM!" or "WHACKO!" comic style flash to keep it "in character!". Oh! Also my failed attempts at sticking the seat to the hull failed miserably so please fix that too! :-)
Some lowlife stole it from my home, carried it 2 miles, put it in a bus stop and set fire to it! However, its now repaired and looking better than ever!
