"Problem: To change the company's image and for more efficient packaging, a juice producer is going to switch from the present cylinder to a triangular box prism.

For each question, round to the nearest centimeter and justify your answer.

• Determine the amount of juice the can holds. Round to the nearest centimeter.

• Determine the height of the triangular prisms that will hold the same amount of juice as the can.

• Determine how much foil paper will be needed to construct the triangular prism of juice.

In this video we determine and compare the surface area and volume of a cylinder with a triangular prism.

This problem was selected from the AIMS Essential Math book Prisms, Pyramids, Cylinders, and Cones. http://bit.ly/emprisms
