A ride up Connecticut Avenue from Dupont Circle to Woodley Park. Starting at S Street, you pass gay-friendly St. Margaret's Episcopal Church (at 0:09), the Hotel Churchill (at 0:21), the Alliance Française (at 0:32) and the Chinese Embassy (at 0:46), cross the Taft Bridge, pass the Marilyn Monroe mural in Woodley Park, the Woodley Park subway entrance (at 1:28), and the historic Wardman Park Marriott (at 1:30), where Langston Hughes was "discovered" by poet Vachel Lindsay. The Wardman Park Marriot has been home to many famous Washington residents. (For more info, see "It Happened on Connecticut Avenue" at www.connave.com)

  • FYI: The Hotel Churchill is across the street from the Washington Hilton, where Reagan was shot. The Alliance Française is just a block past the Hotel Churchill (at 0:32 in this clip).

  • What's the hotel that's right across from Marylin Manroe picture?
