Thanks for the advice. For now, my plan is to wean at a year. However, I have considered extending that for longer for my son's added health benefit. My goal was 6 months in the beginning, so I am thrilled I've lasted this long. :)
Since you didn't say why you want to wean at a year so I just wanted to make sure that you know that contrary to what you may have been told there are still health and other benefits to breastfeeding beyond a year, even if your only nursing as little as once or twice a day by then. I realize you may be getting a lot of pressure to wean your baby at a year but you don't have to wean at a year if you don't really want to. You can Goggle "extended breastfeeding" for more info on the benefits.
