  • @SuperMitch62 Exactly.  When Ethel was banned, Judy had no protection.

  • Yes. She was often deprived of food so she wouldn't gain weight which is why she was so skinny.

  • During this film she collapsed from exhaustion. Busby Berkely worked her so hard, her Dr. ordered her to complete 3 wks. of rest in her mother's house. Judy's mother went to the studio and told them she wouldn't let her daughter work more than 8 hours a day. Mrs. Gumm was barred from the MGM lot for several months because L.B. Mayer wouldn't let anyone one tell him how to run his studio. This was the beginning of her erratic behaviour. MGM worked Judy to death.

  • the director of this film was an ass. He drove Judy crazy she had so many takes because the director was crazy and did not want Judy on this film Judy was amazing as allways
