Originally yes but the Chinese also used it to make cannons and bombs in warfare long back in the Song and Ming dynasty against the Mongols.

  • @Doxi99 because we used gun powder for fun not for killing

  • @oldgringo2001 the opium war is still going on..afgahn grows more opium than the rest of the world combined.thats why everyones hooked on ocycottin.perks ect...

Yeah I forgot however China invented hand-cannons and trigger mechanism in crossbow which is the foundation for modern gun. I found it amazed how they just stopped develop the weapon altogether and went back to the vanilla sword and spear warfare. Even back in the Ming dynasty soldiers were armed with light firearm.

  • @Doxi99 China did not invented guns but we did invent gun powder. However, the gunpowder were primarily used for celebrations such as firecrackers and not for killing purposes.

  • How come China invented gun and gun powder but none of their soldiers are armed with a gun?

  • Fucking Brits destroyed so many of our priceless artifacts.

  • Not only the Brits made money on the Opium trade. It's the foundation of some American fortunes, too--including the Bush family. Kind of puts the War on Drugs in a new context, doesn't it?

  • at first they ship opium into china and ruin it...now they let China make crappy products to sell to the world...oh china...

  • @EPsuperFan That's true, the Chinese monarchy at this time thought China was untouchable because of their divinity, but on the ground though Chinese soldiers as you can see were armed only with spears and were far outmatched by British rifles and her mighty navy. It was a major wake-up call for the Chinese though, which in many ways was a good thing for China at this time.
