  • HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

  • This game was made by the Calver family, the owner of the company who made this was called Peter Calver - the graphics designer for this game was Andrew Calver and they bought the right for Emlyn Hughes' name to be used. I am the son of Andrew Calver and my uncle is Peter Calver. Im very proud!

  • @supahdupahguy81 Ha Ha! - Gary Lineker's hotshots, close shave is dead right!!! I had that (along with 99% of footy games that came out on the 64) It was utter, utter, utter pants. Up there with Peter Beardsley's international soccer, that was truly dreadful aswell!

    Great memories.

  • I played this to death. Best footy game of the age by some distance. Fully customizable from the kits and competitions right down to the player names and abilities. So far ahead of it's time, Matchday 2 was playable, Microprose soccer was excellent, but this was in a totally different league.

  • Use to play this game for hours and hours back in the day on my 64. Great to see it again.

  • The animation was lightyears ahead of it's time.

  • i always thought i was the best at this back then, great game

  • I had the C64 version, we got it in 1989 when i was too young really to play it to any competent level! My dad nearly bought "Gary Linekers hotshots"...close shave!

I played the other versions via emulators & such....Honestly, not one bad version of this game exists...even the spectrum version is more than decent..

  • Excellent game - one of my favourites without question. In the 8 bit days i had the Amstrad version which I personally prefer although I did play the C64 & Spectrum version too which were just as playable.

  • This was by far the best footie game around at the time. I remember you could have leagues and cups, with player names!!!!Quite amazing at the time. Me and my mate used to try to batter the other one on it, he had a crap amstrad(green screen anyone!!!!). While i was stuck with virtually black and white on the speccy!!!!
