This game was so fucking fun. I remember it came with my MGS3 special edition pack, I had no idea the original games were just called Metal Gear. After playing both the first and second, I realized quickly I grew up in the wrong timeline as a kid...Really wish these games were out when I was younger instead of the MGS series!

@gmobb142 I played MG2 when it was released with the MGS3: Subsitance pack. I noticed lots of theme that traveled over the third game. Even though it has a different storyline, MGS is more or less a remake of this game.

@SagginWillies Kojima has stated that his main inspirations for Solid Snake were Snake Plissken from "Escape from New York" and Kyle Reese from "The Terminator".

My god, I'm so thankful I get to finally play these. Thank you Kojima-san for creating the HD collection! TwT

@elsrdelpixel 8 bit~ <3

The HD collection should be snake's revenge, MG and MG2

@SagginWillies And i thank that japanese guy for making metal gear like escape from new york. because if it weren't for the awesomeness of mgs, i wouldn't have ever watched escape from new york.
and that movie is now one of my top favorites.

Indeed, maybe with MGS4's graphics to boot!

One thing - it really feels like an awesome seinen anime film which MG2SS could have been made into! XD
Personally, I like this theme of Solid Snake's more than the better-known one in MGS series, too.
Hi man. how you get this emulator?

That Japanese guy completely stole John Carpenter's "escape from new york" for any disbelievers go watch the movie again. And realize the fact that it was made long before this game came out! By the way, best game intro for the Nes was this game.

Ah.... ever heard of an homage. Kojima is a fan of the film. This game wasn't on the NES. I think you're confusing this game, Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake with Snake's Revenge: Metal Gear 2. The latter did appear on the NES but is not a part of the main series.
