Sherry Turkle, author of "Alone Together", argues that society needs to move away from multitasking in favor of 'unitasking' in this video from The Economist's Human Potential summit on September 14-15th 2011 in New York City.
That's not entirely correct... Feynman had a very interesting experiment where he would count until a minute passed, practicing it until he hit one minute every time with confidence.
Then he'd test what tasks he could perform simultaneously, and turns out he could read, but not speak. Another fellow professor on the other hand could talk but not read.
So the idea that our brains are unitasking is rather misguided.
