Lola & Chaos SAFE in Boxer Luv Rescue's Foster Home! Read Description for Update

UPDATE 7/26 from BLR:
Chaos (now Christie) and Lola arrived in Phoenix safely last night at around 9:00. Big day for them - they were understandably confused and somewhat scared with so many people, different cars and very new environment at the end of the day.. Lola adapted easier and quicker than her sister but within a couple of hours last night, they were sleeping comfortably in a cool guest room on beds of their own. After a good nights sleep, it was out to play with other Boxers in the home and play they did.. NO ISSUES with intro to the other Boxers and they had a blast running, playing, dipping their toes in the pool and just being dogs.. They ate well this morning and are back in their room napping, according to the foster family.. They will get their first set of vaccines later today - we space them, so they'll go a few days later for the remainder.. They're spay surgeries are scheduled for next week, intentionally, to give them a week to acclamate, play and not have any other stressors immediately.. We can happily confirm that they are as sweet - if not sweeter - than anyone has said they are! Wonderful girls.. They are being taught their "hand sign" names today and will be paired with a Boxer with full hearing abilities to start helping them learn - thru observation of the hearing dogs - to be alert when its necessary to be... They have a full, fun day ahead.. It will take time, a lot of training and medical resource to get them prepared to go, together, to the perfect home that we will find for them.. THANK YOU ALL for giving us the opportunity to help them.. We could not have done it, otherwise, as we're overflowing like all rescues.. We had to do a bit of rearranging to give us that ability.. Updates will be posted on our Facebook page on a regular basis - including the announcement of their arrival today..

UPDATE 7/24 - Because of your generous donations and networking skills, we were able to meet the goal. Lola and Chaos will be traveling to Boxer Luv Rescue tomorrow where they will be placed into a deaf dog experienced foster home together. :)

Today is July 22, 2010. These 2 deaf dogs have been living in the backyard of a foreclosed home in Reseda, CA, since July 10th. Lola and Chaos have no more than a week to find a rescuer, foster, or adopter. Otherwise, they will be taken to a high kill shelter.

Lola and Chaos are both 3 year old deaf female Boxers. They are littermates but Chaos is like a "mama" for Lola who is a little shy and insecure. The owner's husband died of cancer leaving her with 6 children and in a bad place financially as all the $ was spent for his care. She lost her husband, her home, and she does not want her dogs to end up at the shelter. But all the rescues are full... she's hit a dead end. Can you help her by rescuing, fostering, adopting, donating towards the dogs, or networking?

When I entered their "territory" (backyard), they attacked me with slobbery kisses and happy tails. They are very friendly, sweet, lovebugs with irresistible mugs. Don't worry about the little Chihuahua mix... the family can have a dog under 25 lbs in their new apartment so he is not in danger. They They were raised with children, love to play with tennis balls, and very bonded to each other. They would love to be rescued together, but they can be placed separately with a wonderful family.
