Composer: Douglas Furber and Philip Braham

Normally I make my own backing tracks when multi-tracking so I can take the blame for everything. This time I found a free site that had Gypsy-style jazz backing, so I got a copy of Limehouse Blues and just played along with it.

I started out meaning to record something else so was setup to use a Rode NT1 & Direct via cable and was going to record a solo. By that time I was just too lazy to move equipment around so the setup is somewhat wrong for this. I also forgot to grab a pick so did this fingerstyle. I, as always, have great intentions to re-record this crazy thing. I love the song and have a good memory of it as played on the album "Cannonaball and Coltrane".

  • Excellent playing! Such a unique sound coming from that guitar, great skills!

  • Thanks LRV - Much appreciated, Hashi

  • Great, Hashi! Thank you for sharing your art. Ther's ppl who just play notes, but you make music, your music says things, it's clear you're speaking (singing) through your guitar. You're a lucky man :)

  • Thanks, JazzScene: I need to stop by and check your stuff out. Hashi

  • Thanks Vic,

I think I record this guitar 100% differently each time, and after the upload, it sounds different as well.

    Appreciate it, H

  • Thanks B,

I didn't think I'd like the backing tracks but they were a lot of fun to play on.

  • Very good playing, and the sound is good too, well even if you didn't use a pick the technique with thumb and index went quite fast and precise here, great tune by the way, enjoyed your performance very much you're a great player, cheers Vic.
