Hydrogen Sulfide H2S

Hydrogen sulfide (or hydrogen sulphide) is the chemical compound with the formula H2S. It is a colorless, very poisonous, flammable gas with the characteristic foul odor of rotten eggs. It often results from the bacterial breakdown of organic matter in the absence of oxygen, such as in swamps and sewers (anaerobic digestion). It also occurs in volcanic gases, natural gas, and some well waters. The human body produces small amounts of H2S and uses it as a signaling molecule.

@TheKrazykool809 the reason they call it hydrogen sulphide and not DIhydrogen suphide is that sulphur has a 2- charge, hydrogen has 1+, therefore you must have two H and one S, you cannot get HS (monohydrogen monosulphide) so your technically right BUT because there is only one hydrogen/sulphur compound (only these elements) they dont have "di" on the hydrogen. Your 100% right about the bonding structure though.

@masharcool123 And it's not "monoxide", because it is a well-known convention in chemistry that if one atom is of an element is present, it is not required to affix "mono" in front of that term in the chemical name. Purely optional, and it is ususally the retards who will emphasize what all others present already know... you know? Besides, tard, my point was that if someone wants to be picky, they'd have to be "this picky", I was going the opposite direction than you thought. Correction Fail.
