I always find it funny when someone makes some drug reference in relation to the creation of mbv's music or enjoying their music. Although Kevin is a known pot smoker, the band ended up sounding the way it did because of Kevin's sleep disorder and his desire to simulate the hypnagogic state musically. mbv were not some band like Spacemen 3 who were reliant on drugs for inspiration.

I had an autoimmune breakdown, the year before I saw them live in Toronto, and I was so out of it mentally at the concert, I could barely focus on what was happening. A miserable experience, except for hearing "Soon". I wish I had been sharp, and on drugs to appreciate them.

I'm not saying drugs are good or bad. You can make up your own mind on that. But if you don't think great art has not been made under the influence of many different types of drugs, then you need to educate yourself. One example is the Beatles the change in their music and great work was done when they started experimenting with drugs. They have admitted so in several documentaries.
